Meaning >
What does better grace the intellect...education, or the sense of discrimination ?
This Sanskrit verse states that it is far far better to be a stark illiterate, rather than being formally educated and devoid of the sense of discrimination.
Education is a biedged sword, and whether it is used or abused by the intellect, fundamentally depends upon whether the intellect is endowed with the power to discriminate between the two... ...use and abuse of anything.
So, only education graced with the power of discrimination, can bless any one with good fortune, happiness and contentment.

Those who are formally well - or even highly - educated but devoid of the power of discrimination, always end up making a joker or laughing stalk of themselves, in presence of the wise ones.
