This is a classic from ' Philosophy Of Living Excellence ', which I have coined into these six Sanskrit verses [ three stanzas ].
These verses differentiate between Money / Wealth, and Prosperity.
Classic Philosophy considers Wealth [ or Money ] as a tool to obtain worldly pleasures ...However, Money is only a tool ... it cannot be the ultimate aim, because it has severe limitations.
With money [ Wealth ], man can satisfy his desires...He can buy excellent food, and a cosy bed made of pure Gold too. However with Money alone, he cannot buy healthy appetite and sound sleep, and satiable thirst. !!
There are many a thing in this material world, which are beyond the reach of Money / Wealth, such as Knowledge, Health, Power of discrimination, Wisdom, and so on and so forth... ...the list is endless...
Such entities imparting real value to living excellence, can never be bought by throwing Money around...they necessarily need to be earned, through respectable living habits and behaviour.
Wise people differentiate between Wealth and Prosperity by saying that , Wealth follows Knowledge and Wisdom...it can never be the other way round.!!!
Enough [not abundant] Money / Wealth is a necessary but not sufficient a stepping stone towards Prosperity...
However, sweet fruits of Penance and Achievements, Knowlwdge, Wisdom, and Capability to discriminate between good and bad, are a must for attaining prosperity. Those who do not understand this, live labouring incessantly only for Money / Wealth.
The hunger for getting more and more Money, never leaves man from it's clutches, and so for making more and still more money, man starts adopting and practising indiscriminately, advisable as well as despisable ways, means, and medhods... ...This is termed as, 'Making Money at any cost.'
Whether one should live and labour to earn Money only, or strive for attaining Prosperity and contentment, one should decide using his own Judgement, and Power of Discrimination, which he can attain only through Knowledge, and Wisdom ... Wisdom being the decisive faculty between the two.
